Why do seals make so much noise?
Function. Male seals are the most vocal because they use their calls to defend their territories. The sounds are amplified underwater and can be heard by other seals over large distances. Above-ground snorts, whistles, and growls are responses to threats from other seals.
Why do sea lions look up in the air?
The reason for this is because the capillaries are close to the surface of the skin and can catch sunbeams to warm their body. To cool down, they put their flipper into the water then raise it back up into the air which cools them off during the evaporation process.
